We're all just trying to be cool...


It's been hot around here but worse than that, it's been extremely humid. Even the kitties in this house are beginning to show signs of lethargy.

Herrschner's had #10 cotton thread on sale, so I bought some...a bunch...a bushel...
Now, the thing about this is that I don't use #10 thread. I've always thought it was too hard to use those itty bitty hooks and that teeny tiny thread. But when I needed a light weight yarn to make the camisole top that I made recently, I decided to try 2 strands of #10 thread...and lo and behold, I loved working with it. Of course by the time I was finished with the camisole I knew that I was going to have to try making a doily. The picture above is my very first attempt at a doily. I've already ordered enough #10 cotton thread of one color to make a beadspread...now I just have to find a pattern...and 5 years to make it.

As one who has made a black doily, you did a nice job on yours! Hope you have many more doily projects in your future!
